Positive Digital Footprint

During our Cybersmart session we learnt about infographics and leaving positive digital footprints. What is this, you may ask? Well, a digital footprint is the information you (knowingly or unknowingly) leave behind when you use the internet. An infographic is information accompanied by icons/pictures. We need to make smart choices when we visit the internet, either by searching for appropriate content, or posting appropriate content. Remember, we never ever post personal information on the internet for strangers to see – and use! We created infographics giving tips about leaving a positive digital footprint.

We are busy learning about volcanoes during our Inquiry sessions.  The class had to choose a volcano to do research on and create a presentation. This group was so excited and each chose a different volcano to do their research on.This presentation has been done by Aryna, Brooklyn, Cali and Aaron

Castle Collage by Alex

This is my Cybersmart shape collage. Here are the tips you can use:

1. If you want a specific texture use words that describe it like the colour  “Grey”or “Red” and the texture like “leaves” or “Wooden”.

2. If you want the image to be a different shape use the mask tool.

Kelly Sports – Softball

Yesterday we learnt to play softball during our Kelly Sports session.  Softball is a variation of baseball, however, the difference being that it is played with a larger ball and on a smaller field.  Usually it would be with underarm pitches, however we just learnt to hit the ball from a stand.

We were divided into two teams and both teams quickly learnt to play well together.  Both teams managed to hit the ball and also scored a couple of home-run’s.  Our catching skills were tested and we also realised that communication is key to a team sport.  We had so much fun!

Editing Images by Juni

Today in Cybersmart me and my classmates did the work Ms Grant gave us and it was fun the thing I liked was editing the stuff in the name and I hope we can do more Cybersmart.

Kelly Sports – Volleyball

On the 13th of March, LS1 had the opportunity to learn more about volleyball during our Kelly Sports session.  We have learnt specific terms associated with the game, such as “serve”, “spike”, “block” and “double hit”.  We have learnt how to use our hands correct when hitting the ball.  It was great fun!

Character Traits

Today we used a graphic organiser to help organiser our ideas. We used information and words about a fictional character from a book to identify their character traits. Character traits are the qualities that make up a person’s character.

Are you familiar with any of these characters? Let us know in the comments.
