Learning about Kate Sheppard – Leading the Way for Woman

For a long time in New Zealand, only men were allowed to vote  No matter how smart, rich, or hardworking they were, they had no say.  In 1893 Kate Sheppard managed to get parliament’s approval for woman to have the right to vote.

During week 6, we have learnt about this iconic character and the important role she has played in history.  Part of our learning, LS1 students had to make a character profile of Kate Sheppard, this is some of the amazing work that has been completed.
