Sione Sore Loser – Manaiakalani Film Festival

Losing is part of the game, but how we handle it says a lot about who we are. A sore loser lets anger and frustration take over, making it hard for others to enjoy playing with them. In Sione Sore Loser, our film explores what it means to be a good sport. We had a lot of laughs coming up with the story, acting, and filming each scene. It took a lot of teamwork and perseverance, and we hope you enjoy watching as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Respect

This week at Panmure Bridge School is Respect Week! LS1 has made a music video to the song ‘Treat Her Like a Lady’ by The Temptations. This song is about showing respect and kindness to others, especially women, by treating them with care. We can take the phrase “treat her like a lady” as a reminder that we should treat everyone with respect, no matter who they are. Respect is about listening, being kind, and showing others that we value them. We hope you enjoy our video and remember to always show respect to those around you.

Sportsmanship

At Panmure Bridge School we learn and teach using the Positive Behaviour For Learning (PB4L) programme. As part of PB4L, we have been discussing what it means to be a good sport and show sportsmanship when playing sport. We started by reading the story “Sally Sore Loser.” Being a good sport allows us to have fun and play hard in a way that is respectful to others. Here are some DLO’s our students created to help us understand the concept of sportsmanship more.

We then made animations of any sport of our choosing to show how sportsmanship helps us to play properly and enjoy ourselves.
